What a wonderful CHANGE in my Life!
Read John 3
If there ever has been a true expression of a songwriter’s feeling of the heart, it is the song “Since Jesus came into my heart.” One of the first and most important changes in the Christian life is just that – change. One of the things that I have noticed about born again Christians is that there is a definite change. In other words, they have been truly born again. To be born again simply means to be born from above. In other words, there is a tremendous change that has taken place in the life of a Christian.
Now think of it, if you were truly born again, there must have been a dramatic change in your life. No, you did not become perfect, but changed. There must have been a change in seeking to please God, in desiring to walk with Him, and of course, in seeking to obey Him. These are some of the basic changes that take place in one who has been born again. He lives no longer to please himself, but he strives to please God. No wonder the songwriter said, “What a WONDERFUL change in my life has been wrought, since Jesus came into my heart.” Every one that is a genuine blood bought born again Christian ought to have experienced this kind of change. No, the change is not the same in every person, and no one can make a list of how you have to change; however, there is a change. How has that change affected you? FOUR THINGS or changes ought to be made: Read Acts 2:41-47.
CONVERSION– A CHANGE IN DESTINATION verse 41.
CONSECRATION – A CHANGE IN LIFE verse 42.
CONVICTION– A CHANGE IN ATTITUDES verse 43.
COMPASSION – A CHANGE IN HEART verses 44-47.
- UNITY in the home and church.
- SACRIFICE to help others.
- WITTNESSING to the lost.
Why not make it a practice to let God have His way for any changes in your life. Someone said it is a changing of guard in life.
Read Ecclesiastes 3-4, Proverbs 31. List some of the things that have changed in your life (attitudes, actions.) since salvation.
