HE HATH MADE US ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED!
These last two days of the year we are going to think about the One who has accepted us. We will all face much heartache in the coming year, but we must also realize no matter the difficulty, Christ accepts us for three reasons:
BECAUSE OF HIS GRACE IN VERSE 6

Why we should Love Christ and His Church? Part 4
Please read 1 John 4:7-12Jesus gave Himself as a sacrifice for the church:
Romans 8:32, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
BECAUSE WE MUST LOVE THE WORK OF CHRIST
Why we should Love Christ and His Church? Part 3
The church refers to the assembly’s authority. The body refers to the assembly’s activity, life, and Christ-likeness.
BECAUSE OF HIS AUTHORITY OVER THE CHURCH
Verse 24, “Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.”The church is subject to Christ.
Matthew 16:18, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Because Christ gave us eternal life.
Because each one of us is under His authority and rule.
Because each one of the church and us will give account.
Hebrews 13:17, “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
It is a privilege to Submit to Christ.
John 12:26, “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”
BECAUSE WE MUST LOVE WHAT CHRIST LOVES
Ephesians 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”
Christ loves the church. The church is not to take second place: Para-church organizations have sprung up like mushrooms, all claiming to “help” the church, but in fact, sucking its very lifeblood.
Christ did not say He loves Para-church organizations or denominations. He said He loved the local, visible New Testament Church.Christ proved His love by giving Himself – verse 25. Gave means that He freely gave, presented; it means to hand over to another or to deliver.
Read Revelation 14-16. The world celebrates the New Year by drinking and dancing. How should we celebrate it?
WHY SHOULD WE LOVE CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH?
Read Ephesians 5:23-27
For the rest of this year we will focus on this exciting study of the Christ and His Church: “Why we should love Christ and His church.” Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon are sometimes called the prison Epistles, because they were written during Paul’s first imprisonment in Rome. Paul anticipated being released from prison, which he was. This allowed him to make several trips and write 1 Timothy and Titus; then he was arrested once again, and we believe he wrote 2 Timothy during his second imprisonment in Rome.
