This is such a wonderful text that we see several applications for us this morning:
HE IS THE MASTER OF OUR SALVATION
John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
Isaiah 1:18, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
If you will make Him your Master, He will help you to master yourself as well as sin.
HE IS THE MASTER OF OUR SANCTIFICATION
That is, He is the purest of the pure, and it is only through Him that we can live a
life well pleasing to Him. He is calling us to revival in holy living. God knows we need revival in our churches.
Sometimes I wonder if we lack revival in America because we have become our own master and do not feel a need for Christ.
HE IS THE MASTER OF OUR SERVICE
Somebody said, “Out of idleness into industry; out of unconcern into concern and out of apathy into action.”
HE IS THE MASTER OF HIS SECOND COMING
Matthew 24:29-31, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
