“HOW TO PLEASE GOD!”

John 8:21-30, text – vs. 28-30

Jesus said, “I do always those things that please him.” and in Luke 19:10, the Bible says that he came to seek and to save that which was lost.

David said in Psalm 40:8, “I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.”

God said in Matthew 17:5, “…behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am WELL PLEASED; hear ye him.”

In Luke 2:49, Jesus said to His parents, “How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?”

In Acts 2:22, “Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.”

Isaiah 50:4, “The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary.”

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Paul said in Romans 15:3, “For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.”

Jesus pleased God in His birth, in His life, in His death, in His prayer life, in His work, etc.

Jesus taking upon Himself the work of redemption was pleasing to God, and He had the realization that in doing it He did those things which pleased God the Father.

Listen to Matthew 3:17, And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Philippians 2:8, And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Isaiah 53:10-12, Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

2 Peter 1:17, “For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
