There are many things we could do to appease or try to please God. There are many things we can do for one another. There are many things we should do, and yet there are others we must do to please God and one another.
How can we discern those that are “must” between those that are a “may” in our life?
Today, it is my prayer that each one of us will understand the importance of God’s priorities verses our homes verses our own preferences.\
Do you realize that we can do some very necessary things and still be doing the wrong thing? Look for example at the disciples of Jesus ascension in Acts chapter one. Was it wrong for them to gaze at Jesus? Absolutely not! But what about their priorities.
In Matthew 24:36-44, they were doing some very necessary things, was it wrong for them to eat, drink and be marry. I do not think it was. But in verse 39, “they knew not until the flood came.”\
Noah preached to people for 120 years giving them ample warning, but they would not listen. Their priorities were all messed up because they were not prepared. They had the wrong things in priorities. They did the good but in the wrong way. We can do the good thing but in the wrong way.
It seems as though God often gets the short end of things. When we do well in the wrong way it is still wrong. It is good to have Christian fellowship, but it is wrong to have it on Sunday or Wednesday evening.
Then how we can know our proper priorities?
- THE FIRST PRIORITIES IS TO BE SAVED.
- THE SECOND IS TO SUBMIT TO BAPTISM.
- THE THIRD IS TO SIGN UP FOR MEMBERSHIP OF THE LOCAL CHURCH.
- AND THE FOURTH IS TO SERVE THE LORD FAITHFULLY.
These are the obvious priorities we must all keep.
TO BE CONCLUDED TOMORROW!
