“GOD’S GRACE!” Part 2.

Ephesians 2:11-12 “Wherefore remember, that ye [being] in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:”

GOD’S GRACE IS MADE CLEAR VERSES 6-14.

In verse 6   God came to the people and said “… live…”  Then He made it perfectly clear by adding, “yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, live.”

Israel did not receive life because of her merit, but because of the matchless, marvelous grace of God.

Instead of letting her enemy destroy her, He put a mantle of protection on her and took her up in His grace and nourished her as a mother would a child.

In His Love He cleansed, clothed and cared for her making her His most favorite nation, but instead of responding to His grace and goodness by loyalty, she once again turned unfaithful.

ISRAEL’S LACK OF LOVE IS SURE VERSES 15-59.

Verse 15 states that Israel trusted in her beauty rather than trusting in the promises of God verse 43.

Israel forgot God’s grace and left her first love, as did the church of Ephesus in,

Revelation 2:4, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.”

Pride is in all of us. We who have nothing to be proud of are prone to take credit for ourselves for any success or “favor” God bestows upon us. Forgetting, all we have is of God. So, Israel became vain and trusted in her own glory and beauty.

The beauty which God gave her she used to draw attention to herself. The admiration and affection from the idolatrous nations from which she had been called to separation.
