Think of the most prized possession next to salvation. Think about your good name and what we must do to guard it. “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches.”
What will people think about when they hear your name called?
You are making an impression and building a reputation for good or bad here now, which will follow you for the rest of your life. What is our first impression when we hear your name?
Here are several things we need to know:
A GOOD NAME MUST BE CHOSEN ON PURPOSE.
2 Corinthians 8:18-24 It is based upon integrity.
Does your name have a purpose in life?
What have you done to protect your name?
A GOOD NAME IS BETTER THAN RICHES.
There is nothing wrong with having things, just make sure they do not become more important than your honor Daniel 1:8, 6:1-8.
Daniel could have had all the riches, but he purposed in his heart:
- To obey God. To do the right thing. 3 To walk in the Spirit.
Ecclesiastes 7:1, “A good name is better than precious ointment and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.”
