Read Philippians 4:1-13 again and review the last two days if time.
We said yesterday that there are several reasons people are constantly depressed:
1. DISAPPOINTMENT OR DISILLUSIONMENT WITH OTHERS
2. SEEMING FAILURES ON THE JOB OR IN THE FAMILY
Failure is often the back door to success, because success only comes to those who have imperfections. We must remember that we are working with imperfect people and as a result we often suffer with disappointment and disillusionment, which can lead to discouragement and depression.
Why not make it a rule to never try just once and quit, but keep on trying as long as you have breath. Don’t let failure stop you, because you only fail if you quit. You may get knocked down but you need not be knocked out.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.”
Always blame yourself and not others by saying, “The Buck stops here.” Even if you fail, learn from it and don’t make the same mistake again. God put you in a place where you can succeed, and if your goal is to live for others you cannot fail.
