Read 1 Timothy 4:6-16 again:
There are FIVE IMPORTANT AREAS IN WHICH WE OUGHT TO TEACH OUR YOUNG MEN TO BE GOOD EXAMPLES:
WE NEED TO TEACH OUR YOUNG MEN TO BE MANLY.
That is, having qualities generally attributed to a real man:
A. Manly courage. Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed.”
2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
1 Peter 5:8-9, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”
B. Manly characteristics.
C. Manly character.
D. Manly completion:
That is, work hard and finish the task at hand.
A GOOD EXAMPLE IN MANNERS.
That is to be courteous and respectful toward others. I believe children need to be taught to respect property: first others, & mine then they will respect their own. When a child makes a request it ought to always include please, may I, etc. AND when they respond: Thank you, yes, ma’am, yes sir, etc.
TO BE CONCLUDED TOMORROW!
