“BEING ENCOURAGED IN THE LORD!” PART 2

Read Jeremiah :20:7-18

Jeremiah’s message was God’s impending judgment 1:9-10.

We say things are not what they used to be.

We need to be encouraged because:

  1. GOD DID NOT CALL US TO AN EASY TASK.

2 Timothy 2:14 reminds us, “Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words (one word: quibbling over words and not seeking after truth) to no profit, but to the subverting (destroy) of the hearers.”

1 Timothy 6:3-5. Our ministry is to be offensive not defensive. Don’t get caught fighting each other, but the enemy. Our job is to rescue and save as many as possible from the impending judgment. There has been a lot of blood shed. Think of those who have paid the price to keep us free.

We need to understand that our Society is not for us Deuteronomy 6:10-12.

2. GOD DID NOT CALL US TO BE SUPERHUMAN.

Jeremiah 20:1-2 – Defeat after victory.

Jeremiah forgot his mission, 1:9-10, “to root out, to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build and to plant.”

All had forsaken him, and he is disgusted with his office and with his God.

Now Jeremiah wanted to quit, “I’ll just take the easy way out.”

No, no! Why did God not kill Jeremiah as he requested? Psalm 103:13-18.

I often take comfort in these verses. He takes pity on us and remembers that we are but dust.
