2 Samuel 11:27-12:14.
Meditate on 11:27, 12:9-14.
Notice the times “I have sinned” is used in the Bible.
Exodus 9:27, “And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous and I and my people are wicked.”
Num 22:34, “And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again.”
Josh 7:20, “And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:”
“I have sinned and betrayed innocent blood,” Matthew 27:4.
We must take responsibility for our own sin.
The Bible is faithful to recount the sins as well as the virtues of its character; thereby teaching us good lessons, as in the case of David’s sin.
David recognized his sin in Psalm 51. He REPENTED and was RESTORED.
