“DON’T LET THE DEVIL FOOL YOU”

This is the entire message that had been posted for the last four days:
2 Corinthians 11:1-15

You might as well know it; the devil is on your trail. Think of it…he is like a lion out for prey.

I. THE DEVIL IS CUNNING AND DECEITFUL

He comes in many disguises and names: He is called:

The ACCUSER in Revelation 12:10, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”

The ADVERSARY in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

The ANGEL OF THE BOTTOMLESS PIT: Revelation 9:11, “And they had a king over them, [which is] the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue [is] Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath [his] name Apollyon.”

He is called BEELZEBUB in Matthew 12:24, “But when the Pharisees heard [it], they said, This [fellow] doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.”

BELIAL in 2 Corinthians 6:15, “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”
GOD OF THIS WORLD: 2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

MURDERER: John 8:44, “Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

THE OLD SERPENT: Revelation 20:2, “And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,”

PRINCE OF DEVILS: Matthew 12:24, “But when the Pharisees heard [it], they said, This [fellow] doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.”

PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR: Ephesians 2:2, “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”

PRINCE OF THIS WORLD: John 14:30, “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”

THE RULER OF DARKNESS: Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].”

SATAN: 1 Chronicles 21:1, “And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.”

SERPENT: Revelation 12:15, “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.”

Revelation 20:2, “And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.”

II. THE DEVIL IS CONTROLING OVER THE DISOBEDIENT

A. THEY ARE HIS CHILDREN: 1 John 3:10, “In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
B. THEY DO HIS WILL: John 8:44, “Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
C. THEY ARE BLINDED BY HIM: 2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
D. THEY ARE DECEIVED BY HIM: Revelation 20:7, “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.”
E. THEY ARE ENSNARED BY HIM: 1 Timothy 3:7, “Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.”
F. THEY ARE TROUBLED BY HIM: 1 Samuel 16:14, “But the spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.”
G. THEY ARE PUNISHED WITH HIM: Matthew 25:41, “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”

BUT YOU SAY…”HE HAS NO CONTROL OVER ME….”

III. THE DEVIL CHALLENGES THE DETERMINED CHRISTIAN

A. HE HAS POWER TO TEMPT US: Again, 1 Chronicles 21:1, “And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.”
B. HE HAS POWER TO AFFLICT US: Job 1:12, “And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath [is] in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.”
C. HE HAS POWER TO OPPOSE US: Zechariah 3:1, “And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.”
D. HE HAS POWER TO SIFT US: Luke 22:31, “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired [to have] you, that he may sift [you] as wheat:”
E. HE HAS POWER TO BEGUILE US: 2 Corinthians 11:3, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

F. HE HAS POWER TO DECEIVE US: Our text!

BUT WAIT A MINUTE…DON’T GIVE UP JUST YET:

IV. THE CHRISTIAN CAN DEFEAT THE DEVIL

A. WATCH AGAINST HIM: 2 Corinthians 2:11, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
B. FIGHT AGAINST HIM: Ephesians 6:11-18.
C. RESIST HIM: James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
1 Peter 5:9, “Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”
D. OVERCOME HIM: 1 John 2:13, “I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him [that is] from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.”

LET ME SAY THIS IN CLOSING…YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE DECEIVED OR OVERCOME BY THE DEVIL…YOU HAVE ALL THE POWER AVAILABLE TO YOU THROUGH CHRIST.
