Please read Hebrews 11:1-6
It is amazing how God uses the words faithfulness and faithful in the Scripture to point mainly to the faithfulness of God Himself and the fact that God Himself is faithful. We are also told in I Corinthians 4 that it is required of a steward that he be found faithful.
In the Psalms, we see the word faithfulness appear dozens of times, and each time, it refers to the faithfulness of God. One of the few times that the Scripture uses the word faithful toward men is referring to Moses in Hebrews 3:2 and 3:5. We also find, in I Peter 4:19, that Sylvanus was a faithful brother. In Revelation 2:10, God requires the church of Smyrna to be faithful unto death, and in 2:13, God speaks of Antipas as “God’s faithful martyr.” In all of these verses, we see that faith requires one to be faithful.
So, how can I be a faithful servant this year?
1. After salvation, always comes service.
2. Be certain that your service is done for the Master
3. Be certain that it is done in faith.
4. Be absolutely certain to stick it out to the end.
Faithfulness is not a gift given by God. Faithfulness is a requirement commanded by God. It is a requirement that has absolutely no limits. One can only limit himself as he fails to exercise faithfulness by faith, because “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Let’s remember to be faithful, excited, enthusiastic and committed in the service of our wonderful Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
