“INGREDIENTS TO A HAPPY HOME!”

Ephesians 5:22-32

It is my belief that we must understand that for the Christian, the home begins with Christ and His precious Word. Therefore, we will be studying the many facets of the Christian home according to God’s Word.

There will be many other lessons to follow. The next two weeks are to be used as an introduction only and not meant to be an in depth lesson. Please spend some time on Abraham (while the information is still fresh) as we have studied his life in recent weeks.

In the Lord’s Supper we are thankful for the sacrifice paid by our Lord Jesus Christ. It is that kind of love which is necessary to make a home a real Christian home. See verses 1-17 and Colossians 3:1-4, 16-17.

In verse 22, God starts with a woman’s obedience to her husband.
In verse 25, the husband is commanded to love his wife.
In Chapter 6:1, children are commanded to obey their parents.
In 6:4, a father is commanded to train and teach his children by way of discipline.

Five ingredients are necessary for a happy Christian home:

I. THE HAPPY CHRISTIAN HOME HAS THE INGREDIENT OF LOVE FOR CHRIST AND EACH OTHER.

Spend some time on the fact that it starts here. (A more detailed lesson will soon follow on this subject).

II. THE HAPPY CHRISTIAN HOME HAS THE INGREDIENT OF LEADERSHIP BY THE FATHER.

In the Bible, the father always taught the son what a Christian man was like. The story is told of a child who asked, “Daddy, have I ever seen one?” In this lesson we will study two great Fathers who were true biblical leaders of their home:

TOMORROW, WE WILL SEE OUR FIRST EXAMPLE OF, ABRAHAM.
