Read Titus 2:1-15
So, why bring the poor, the bus kids, etc. Because of God’s amazing grace and it is for everybody.
I. GOD’S GRACE FIRST OF ALL PRODUCES SALVATION TO ALL WHO BELIEVE VERSE
II. GRACE PROMOTES SEPARATION VERSE 12.
“That denying ungodliness and worldly lusts.”“By denying ourselves of these, or refusing to practice them, we should lead a holy life.” The word ungodliness, here means all that would be included under the word sin; that is, all failure in the performance of our duties towards God.
The phrase “worldly lusts,”refers to all improper desires pertaining to this life–the desire of wealth, pleasure, honour, sensual indulgence. It refers to such passions as the men of this world are prone to, and would include all those things which cannot be indulged in with a proper reference to the world to come.
Watch what happens: Sometimes a church member brings the world into the church and the church soon becomes worldly and carnal.
People come to church, but the people (sometimes the pastor) are not separated. So, that leaves the church with no power. We all need to reject ungodliness like the plaque and live holy.
III. GOD’S AMAZING GRACE PROVIDES SANCTIFICATION VERSE 12.
Proverbs 25:4, “Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.” 2 Peter 2:21, 1 Peter 1:7.
God takes out the impurities by turning up the heat. Look at Job 23:1-10.
Verse 10, “But He knoweth the way that I take, when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
Psalm 17:3, 66:10-12, 139:1-3, 23-24; James 1:12, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation, for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.”
IV. GRACE PROVIDES PROCLAIMS THE SAVIOUR VERSE 13.
God’s Grace is for everybody!
