Review Ezekiel 16:1-15
Judgment could no longer be held off, because it is God’s way of reproving and cleansing. He delights in mercy, but when every effort fails, God must exercise His wrath. He could no longer tolerate their behavior. Not only were they destroying themselves, but their own children by their example.
In their disobedience they sunk to the level of Sodom and Gomorrah and in some cases even worse; so that there was “no remedy.”
Proverbs 29:1, “He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall
suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.” BUT GOD!
IV. THANK GOD FOR HIS LONG SUFFERING GRACE THAT’S SECURE. VERSES 60-63.
Worthlessness and wickedness was the reason for judgment on Jerusalem, and God reveals that in the future, in spite of their sin; He will deal with them in GRACE.
It is a blessing to know that God controls all forces of judgment He employs. Remember that our discouragements of yesterday will be our victories tomorrow.
V. THANK GOD HE STILL REMEMBERED HIS COVENANT WITH THEM.
Thank God, we have Jesus Christ…
