Verse 8, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”
Think of the importance of making promises to God while in your youth. Oh, how many mistakes could be avoided if we would only learn to listen.
I. PURPOSE TO PLEASE GOD IN YOUR LIFE!
II. PURPOSE TO OBEY ALL AUTHORITY GOD HAS PLACED OVER YOU.
III. PURPOSE TO KEEP YOUR HEART, BODY, SOUL AND LIFE UNSPOTTED FROM THE WORLD..
A. Prove to be Holy verse 12.
B. Practice your faith and people will see it in 6:4
Ezekiel 14:14, “Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.”
Daniel was blessed of God because he made some promises to God as a teen ager and simply lived what he promised God as a youth.
Daniel spoke for himself, but the other three followed, which shows he had influence with God as well as with others.
