“GOD’S POWER IN CREATION” PART 2.

Read Matthew 19:16-30.

Though the forces of evil and hell may seem to be victorious, yet in the end God will conquer all those opposing His great cause. Why? Because God is all powerful.

Read Exodus 15:3,6,11-12; 1 Samuel 2:6-8; Job 9:4-13; Isaiah 26:4; Psalm 77:14-18; Psalm 106:8; Jeremiah 10:6,12-13; Ephesians 3:2-21; Revelation 20:10; Matthew 4:18-22 & 19:26.

Notice the Bible says, “With men this is impossible.” Only God can take the love of the world out of the human heart, and the rich as well as the poor can only be saved by the supernatural power of God.

In our text, Jesus does not retract what he had said: but rather reinforces it, by saying that the salvation of a rich man can only come through the Omnipotence of God. With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. In other words, human efforts alone cannot save a man. The young man was zealous in keeping the commandments, but there was a great lack. He did not understand that only the grace of God can save.

Only the grace of God can break down the trust and love for wealth, and fill the heart with the love of Christ. It is the love of money, not money that is the root of all evil.

1 Timothy 6:10, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

We need to understand that a meager man can love money as much as a millionaire.

When Jesus beheld them, He looked on them with pity and love, and told them that God could do that which, apart from him, would never come to pass. To enter the kingdom is impossible to man without God. Only one sin of unbelief can keep us from being saved.!

Unfortunately, the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches are two powerful forces that can keep a man or woman from going to heaven. The blessing is that God is not only mighty to save, but with God all things are possible. What a wonderful truth for us for the remainder of this year.

Several practical lessons:

  1. It is impossible for any man, rich or poor, to get to heaven by his own means.
  2. We need to think about the power of God, and by faith act upon it; and not rely upon our own strength or ability to do the impossible.
  3. Do not get discouraged but look to God because “With God all things are possible.”
