“GOING AFTER THE RIGHT KIND!”

Ephesians 5:1-21

If you look at verse 8, you will notice that light cannot compromise with darkness, but only expose it. God commands us to walk as children of light, and three more times in verses 13 and 14, god addresses the subject of light. I am reminded of William Carey, who faithfully preached the Gospel to the Indians for 40 years and paid the supreme sacrifice of his wife and children. He made the famous statement, “India is a gold mine for the Gospel. All I need is for you to hold the rope.”In other words, all he needed was for those at home to be faithful in prayer and in sending financial support. William Carey went after the right kind.

I. THE RIGHT KIND OF POSITION – IN GOD’S WILL

1 John 2:17,“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”How can I know the will of God?

  • The Scripture test – Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 6:6, I Thessalonians 4:3 and 5:8, Hebrews 10:36, I Peter 2:15. God is not to be bargained with. He is not interested in making deals with us. There is a permissive will of God and an absolute will of God. There is also a possibility of missing God’s will entirely.
  1. The burden in your heart. The burden will continue to reveal itself and grow as you do God’s will.
  2. What are your personal capabilities – abilities?
  • What are the opportunities, or open doors?

TO BE CONCLUDED TOMORROW!
