2 Corinthians 8:1-15
GRACE: GOD’S RICHES AT CHRIST’S EXPENSE…or Grace is “the kindness and love of God toward man.” “not by works of righteousness which we have done…”
- The Law demands righteousness from man. Grace gives righteousness to man: Romans 3:21, “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets.”3:22, “Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:”
- Law is connected with Moses and works; grace with Christ and Faith: John 1:17, “For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
- Law blesses the good; grace saves the bad: Ephesians 2:8-9.
- Law demands that blessings be earned; grace is a free gift: Romans 4:4, “Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
