“HARK THE HERALD ANGEL SING” CONCLUSION!

Luke 2:8-20.

Isaiah 9:6-7 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

NOW, LOOK AT THE LAST STANZA:

Come Desire of Nations, come! Fix in us Thy humble home:
Rise, the woman’s conquering Seed, Bruise in us the serpent’s head.
Adam’s likeness now efface, Stamp Thine image in its place:
Second Adam from above, reinstate us in Thy love. HARK…

Haggai 2:7, “And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.”

To think that the AlMIGHTY CREATOR, THE JUDGE OF ALL THE EARTH, THE RIGHTEOUS SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS, THE CONQUEROR OF DEATH WOULD TAKE UP RESIDENCE IN OUR OWN HEARTS!

Adam’s sin nature was passed on to all his descendants, and likewise the unacceptability of sinful mankind to stand in the presence of a Holy God. But his work in fulfillment of the prophecy, crushed Satan’s hold on the claim over us.

1 Corinthians 15:22, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”

GLORY TO THE NEWBORN KING!

THE CREATOR DYING FOR THE CREATION. THE JUDGE PAYING THE PENALTY FOR THE GUILTY. THE SINLESS CHRIST SUBSTITUTING FOR SINNERS…

Philippians 2:5-7, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”

But, make no mistake: The babe in the manger was the Creator, Holy and eternal! Colossians1:15-16 “Who is the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature..all things were created by Him and for Him.”

He had to live a sinless life. He had to be fully human, but also fully God. He had to be “God with us,” as prophesied years before.

LET’S LOOK AT THE THIRD STANZA OF THE SONG.:

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings, Ris’n with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory y, Born that man nor more may die;
Born to raise the sons of earth, Born to give them second birth.

There will come a time when the Creator’s work of salvation will be complete, and we will fully realize the eternal life we now have. The fact that He was born into the human race qualified Him as a sacrifice for us. He had to be human, and a sinless human at that, to die for humans.

The fact that He died freed us from paying for our own sin.

Can you imagine how the Shepherds felt that night? One moment they were sleepily watching their flock verse 8, and the next, they were confronted by “The Angel of the Lord.” Little wonder, they were, “sore afraid.” But, the Angel calmed their fears and announced the wonderful news of that long-awaited Messiah. Verses 10-12.

In our text, the Angels constitute a “host” not just a Choir.

I. LOOK AT THE FIRST STANZA OF THE SONG:

Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King;
Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!
Joyful all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies;
With the angelic hosts proclaim, “Christ is born in Bethlehem!”

The angels were present at the disobedience of Adam and Eve. God withdrew His fellowship from man, but finally the penalty has now been paid.

II. AND MAN WAS NOW RECONCILED WITH GOD:

2 Corinthians 5:20-21, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

III. LOOK AT THE 2ND STANZA OF THE SONG:

Christ, by highest heaven adored, Christ the everlasting Lord:
Late in time behold Him come, Offspring of a virgins womb.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see, Hail the incarnate Deity! Please as man with men to dwell, Jesus, our Immanuel.

The entire Gospel message runs contrary to the human mind:

“HAPPY IS THAT PEOPLE WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD” PART 2.

Read Psalm 144:1-15

Ten rules for happier living:

1. Give something away no strings attached.

2. Do a kindness for someone and forget it.

3. Spend a few minutes with the aged (their experience is a priceless guidance).

4. Look intently into the face of a baby and marvel.

5. Laugh often (it’s life’s lubricant)

6. Give thanks (a thousand times a day is not enough)

7. Pray (or you will lose the way).

8. Work (with spirit and vigor).

9. Plan as though you’ll live forever (because you will).

10. Live as though you’ll die tomorrow (because you will on some tomorrow. Author unknown

One thing we know for certain, HAPPY IS THAT PEOPLE, WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD!

“HAPPY IS THAT PEOPLE WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD!”

Psalm 144:1-15.
This Psalm was written by David after one of the deliverances from King Saul, or possibly after the time of the Absalom rebellion. This was the only time David’s people rebelled against him. David realized he needed two things from God: strength and skill.
The psalm also looks prophetically at a time when the children of Israel will suffer during the Tribulation.
Verse 1, if we think that we can do without the protection of God, we will become as many other nations that tried and ended in ruin. Including even now in our own nation.
Verse 2, I am thankful for our powerful military, but even more thankful that God is our Protector, Fortress and High Tower, Deliverer and Shield.
Verse 4, two things man is like: vanity and a shadow that passes away.
Verse 7, Water is figurative of people. Revelation 17:15.
Verse 8, two sins of men in general: spreading vanity and falsehood.
Verse 9, David makes two vows to God: I will sing and I will praise.
Verses 12-4, seven reasons are given for deliverance:
Verse 15, gives the eighth that constitute happiness: (seven given in verses 12-14), “whose God is the Lord” is the eighth.
Then look at the 14 that are given in Psalm 146:5-10.

“JESUS IS GREATER THAN SATAN AND ANGELS.

“Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” In 1 John 4:4,  John warns them to test the spirits.Jesus rebuked Satan in the wilderness, when he tried to tempt Him to worship him.

Jesus said, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve”in Matthew 4:1-10.

Hebrew 1:4, “Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”

Read the entire chapter if time, also chapter 2 and 3.

AND LAST, JESUS IS BETTER THAN THEM ALL.

“My Father …is greater than all..I and my Father are one.”

Jesus is greater than Moses, Kings, Princes, Sheiks, Presidents, Premiers; Jesus is greater than all these. Is Jesus great to you?

“JESUS IS GREATER THAN ANY TEMPLE AND SOLOMON!”

Matthew 12:1-8, look at verse 6.

\Solomon prayed at the dedication of the Temple: 2 Chronicles 6:18, “But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!”

Isaiah 66:1-2, “Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?”For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.”

Luke 11:31, “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.”

Philippians 2:9-11, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:” That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
