“HAVING A GOOD SPIRIT!”

Joshua 3:5-13, Proverbs 18:12-14.

What is a good spirit? What is a bad spirit? How do you react when you have been wronged? All these are good questions and must be answered in a biblical way.

Jesus said in John 16:1, 15, “These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

So, what is a good spirit? Paul had a good spirit when he said, “what persecutions I endured, but out of them all the Lord delivered me.”

Saul had a bad spirit against David … jealousy, “Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands.

Elisha wanted Elijah’s good spirit not just his power. Good and bad spirit spread … especially the bad.

It was a bad spirit that led David into the sin with Bathsheba. When he was confronted to face his sin he said, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

What started David’s bad spirit?  The sin of jealousy. So, the lesson is, if you want a good spirit, stay out of sin.

Daniel had good success because he had an excellent spiritin him. It is Christ-like to have a good spirit and it will glorify God.

I Corinthians 6:20, “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
