Joshua 3:5-13, Proverbs 18:12-14.
Moses, Joshua, Job and Daniel were all tested and each had a good spirit. Nothing will destroy our church quicker than a wounded or a bad spirit.
Proverbs 18:12-14, “Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility. He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”
The good spirit will help to keep everything else healthy: Proverbs 16:32, “He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.”’
Have you ever heard of catching good health or a good spirit? No, a good spirit comes in direct obedience to the Word of God. We will have trouble when our spirit is bad.
There is only one way to destroy any church and that is if just one of us has a bad spirit. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 4:21, “What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?”
- If you have a wounded spirit, you are almost done.
- A wounded spirit can be very contagious.
- We must sanctify ourselves continually.
Joshua told his people, “Sanctify yourselves.” How?
- Joshua heard God’s Word.
- He obeyed His voice …His Word.
- It is a sin to cause someone to have a wounded spirit.
- Understand those that have a wounded spirit.
What can we do? CONTINUED TOMORROW!
