“HOW CAN WE ANGER GOD?”

Hebrews 10:26-31

Yesterday we said, I. WHEN WE DISRESPECT THE PURITY OF GOD, VERSE 29.

II. WHEN WE DISREGARD THE PRICE OF GOD’S SACRIFICE VERSES 26, 29.

When we treat the blood of Christ as ordinary. The blood of Christ is not ordinary. Isaiah 52:14, “As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:”

He did not look human because of all the suffering. “We hid as it were our faces from Him.” The crowd said, “Crucify Him, and crucify Him.”

Pilate found no fault in Him in John 19:1, “Then Pilate took him and scourged Him…soldiers platted a crown of thorns and put it on His head.”

Today people want a religion of convenience and not conviction; of self indulgence and not sacrifice; of experience and entertainment in place of obedience and obligation.

III. WHEN WE DESPISE THE PLEADING OF GOD’S SPIRIT VERSE 29.

Psalm 14:1, “The fool hath said there is no God.” Notice “there is” is in italics. In other words, he is saying, “The fool – no God.”

We say no to God in church more than any other place. Think about that for a moment! God draws a line when we reject His Word and the closer we get to the line the greater the danger of judgment.

Our attitude toward sin ought always to be “no.” Don’t cross that line and don’t make God angry at your sin. Don’t be guilty of willful rebellion.
