I. JESUS LOVED IN TRUTH, II. JESUS LOVED IN GRACE.
When is the last time you were gracious, kind parents? You don’t want a Pastor who is not truthful, kind or gracious.
III. HE LOVED THEM IN FORGIVENESS.
Most Christians today have a score card. But you say, preacher they hurt me and did me wrong. That’s right, there would not be anything to forgive if not. Forgive means to forget and throw the scorecard away.
They conspired to kill Jesus, but He forgave them. He forgave without asking. We say, “if he comes and asks me to forgive I might.”
IV. HE LOVED THEM IN SERVICE.
Can you imagine the Son of God coming to serve you and me? Think of this: Servant hood is the real test of greatness. Our job is to serve even while leading others. Am I looking to serve or to be served.
That’s America this morning, “you owe me you serve me.” What did Jesus do? He washed their feet – humbled Himself. Think of this: if you get all the praise here you’ll get nothing there.
Ask yourself, how good of a servant am I? Let’s say together, “it is an honor to serve you.
V. HE ALSO LOVED THEM IN BEARING THEIR BURDENS.
There is no way to love without involvement under their burdens. We hear and walk away. When you love you bear Matthew 11:28-30.
Love and bearing burdens go together. Whose burdens are you bearing?
Jesus commanded them and us to love as “I have loved you.” How is your love today? It starts with Jesus.
