Matthew 5:1-16, verses 13-16 text.
We must see clearly ourselves before we can be an influence on others. How?
- Acknowledge all sin.
- Turn away from your sin.
- Ask Christ to forgive you.
- Yield every part of your life to Christ.
- Look for Him in your daily circumstances.
Someone said, “A pure heart enables us to see God in everything.”
I. WE INFLUENCE OTHERS BY OUR WALK.
- It is a walk of LOVE
Ephesians 5:1-2, “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”
Ephesians 3:17-19, “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”
2. It is a walk of FELLOWSHIP
Ephesians 5:8,11-12, “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.”
Philippians 3:10, “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”
