Read Psalm 71:1-24 one more time.
So, what does all this mean to us (the Christian) this morning? The strength of man is union with Christ. In Him the weakest, according to his capacity, becomes a partaker of the power of God.
There are also other benefits in “going in the strength of the Lord God.”
I. THERE IS MUCH STRENGTH IN THE SIMPLE FEELING OF BEING AT PEACE WITH GOD.
He feels like a giant, secure and confident meeting every trial at peace with God.
II. THERE IS MUCH STRENGTH IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
Remember, the arm of the Lord God is Christ – His presence.
A. Peace of God.
B. Presence of God.
III. THERE IS MUCH STRENGTH IN THE PROMISES OF GOD.
IV. THERE IS MUCH STRENGTH IN TE PERFECTION OF GOD – HE IS TRUTH.
Truth is perfect. We are on the winning side – victory is here already. It may be we have to suffer some setbacks, but God is truth and truth cannot lie; therefore, truth is strength.
“Blessed is the man whose strength is in Him.”
